BioShock 2 - Bigsister - a by Destro2k BioShock 2 - Bigsister - a by Destro2k
:iconvictorydanceplz: :icondweebdanceplz: :iconcarameldansenplz: :happybounce: :squee: :hooray:

should i say something more :D
for all who followed me the last time
you can imagine how happy i am, that this gigantic project is finally done
three months (pure building time) of work are over
it was hard, it was frustrating but all in one
it was just worth :aww:

seeing her standing on my desk is just a satisfaction for all the work i put in
quite every edge is recolored to hide the white spots
i put so much soul into this project that i believe
a bit more and this model would jump right from my desk :D

but enough talking ;P
let's see what you will get here

file description:
the file contains as always three pdo files
one with texture and folding lines
one with texture and without folding lines
and one white version with folding lines

so you need again the Pepakura Viewer what you can get "here"

all three pdo's are not protected
so if you have the Designer, you can edit the model in the way you want :)

the package also contains the original textures

model description:
the model come on 52 pages with 520 pieces and is 60cm tall

i have to say this too
this model is hard
really hard, believe me
rate 10/10
you have to improvise a lot, so think two times if you really wanna build it :)

this time i wrote a lot of footnotes
more then usual
read them closely and you should have no problems

also
you should take a look at the building process gallery of the big sister
there are a few parts where i explain how this and that is working

to download the model
click on the download button on the right side
you can thank dA for, that i can't write the direct link anymore

some word to the bloggers

you have the permission to use my photos
this model is a Deviantart only download
so do not upload this model somewhere else
and the most important thing

this model is free and should it be
so let it be!

and trust me, i search for my stuff ;)

feel also free to write a critique :)

This is insane! Was just browsing through and admiring your Bioshock Infinite papercraft bottles when I saw this pop up in the 'more like this section' and I didn't believe it at first, but it's true! :) Nice job, keep it up the amazing work!

Oh! Well I feel silly.
Sometimes they include one or two from the artist if there's a running theme, but I actually thought you made them because your style of writing comments was similar... perhaps... Or I am simply crazy.
Regardless, awesome work dude! ^-^

Is there any support inside? Or does it just free stand properly? Also can I use A4 sheets of card to make this or do i need A3/A2 etc?

Well done regardless, seriously considering bumping my printer ink up and making this, it looks really good!

Man, this is AWESOME:jawdrop:! you did a goddamn work! Congratulations!
I'm planning to do this big sister too, but i never did a papercraft SO COMPLICATED before! so, could you gimme some hints? =D Something like the material you used to build it, the kind of paper, to do the creases you used something to "hold" or "push" the paper? 'cause some pieces are so small and keep wondering "how i'm gonna crease this thing!:headache:"

So, if you could help me on this, it would be awesome! Thank you and keep the great work!

first of all, thanks a lot, glad you like it :)
for the hints, well actually i posted everything in the single photos at the build process gallery
the paper should be a thin one, i used 80gsm
it was quite before impossible to build but strong enough that it doesn't collapse :)

and sorry for the english, man :frustrated: i didn't mean "crease" but "FOLD", so sorry! :~~

So, any hint about the the folding and materials would be great, thanks again =D

You have no idea how happy you made me.
I signed up on deviant so I can comment on your work!
As a huge fan of Bioshock, Borderlands and papercraft, I'm overexcited that there's an artist like you!
I mean there's this guy I've seen, about as skilled as you, but he keeps his models for himself.
(not that there's anything wrong with that!)
I just think there's more joy in sharing good things with everyone.
And that's exactly why I'm so grateful to you. :happycry:
Top-notch work!!

Just a couple of questions. What kind of paper do you use? like how thick? and what do you use to color the white spots?

i'm glad you like them
yeah, i think i know who you mean
and honestly i don'T understand it
it's like "hey look how much cool stuff i have, but you don't get it"

when i build something what is free then i can also share it
and you are right, to read comments like yours is the best thing (except the model on the desk :D )

for the models i use normal printer paper with 80gsm
work good for me :)
to color the edges this thick stabilo markers

aWesome! haha. thanks. :thanks:
80gms? wow! that's much thicker than mine. I've been using 41gsm.
I'll definitely try that and stabilo markers. actually I'm gonna go get them now. ;P

they are really good, also to mix the colors when you need
test it out first when a color don't fit
also sometimes some unexpected colors result in a complete different :)
