Evangelion Test Type 01 - 1 by Destro2k Evangelion Test Type 01 - 1 by Destro2k
after three days
sitting in front of the parts
trying, testing, connecting, disconnect, trying again and testing
i think i managed it well

this is definitely an eyecatcher
and i regret no second

the hardest part were the arms
the is no space for any moving ore posing
so, i just joined them

if you reach this point
i beg you
take your time

and use a lot of glue
yesterday, one of the legs broke, and it was hell to rejoin it on the model

start with the lower legs and kneecaps
join the upper legs in the position you want
and then the torso

you can also connect the head slightly offset
but it doesn't fit for this pose

I also omitted the weapon
i found no place for it

anyway
i'm proud of it, and this is worth more as a purchased figure.

what's about Test Type 02 (the red one from Asuka)?
i don't know
maybe someday ;)

ah, yes
here again the gallery with the building process
and the other pictures from the model

ist nur ein nachbau, die sheets sind nicht von mir, war aber dennoch nicht einfach, insbesondere da es eins meiner ersten war ^^;

bin also voll in kalte wasser gesprungen :D

LG Chris-the-Cat

Really impressive job and much more exciting to have on your shelf than a pre-made model! I wish I had the patience to make paper models. This just goes to show how professional the results can be! :)

thx a lot
try some smaller models
if you like it, then try some bigger ones
the good thing is, if you made mistake
you can rebuild it without anger

but you say patience
a workmate currently build a woodship
i don't know if I had the patience for that =D

Is there a papercraft of the type 02 one? Working on the purple one myself right now and then I am gonna do the orange one after that heh.

Brilliant work man, anyone who is looking to build this really needs to use your gallery as reference. His pictures will help you more than the instructions that come with the model lol. Beautiful!

thx a lot

the red one is Unit 02
i don't know why the model is called 00

Unit 00 is actually the number of Rey Ayanami
and yes, there is one
but not so detailed

Yeah I keep trying to get into Eva but I can't seem to. I own them all on DVD including the movies and just haven't gone through them yet (I have owned them since they released lol). Odd that the papercraft is going to make me get the DVDs out heh.

And yeah the 00 model that you linked is actually pretty nice for someone doing it themselves (i.e. not official from someone who has the resources of a huge 3d animation department lol). In the discussion he mentions doing a larger version of his...I wonder how realistic it would be to blow this or the Orange one up a few hundred percent and make an EVA as big as myself lol.

Oh well after I get some more papercraft experience maybe I will go there lol. Pretty much it is all like you said though, just take your time and don't try to rush and it will come together very nicely :) .

Yeah I am pretty sure I would lose it...Too bad it would cost me like 1000 dollars to print it at Kinkos lol. I guess I could get the Acrobat pro and cut each piece out and put it on a separate sheet of paper? It might be hard to increase them all the same percentage though.

LOL. They already look at me funny. They wouldn't print one page of a papercraft cause it had the Final Fantasy logo on it...I was like dude it isn't as if I am trying to sell this stuff, it is simply for my personal use. He was like, "we need permission." I was like yeah let me get Square Enix on the phone, we go way back lol.

Anyways let's see how this "smaller" version turns out first then we can talk 6 feet lol.
